Getting in the spirit of spooky Halloween? We are too! That’s what led us to create this delicious blend of crunchy caramel popcorn and sea salt milk chocolate bugs. So bust out your cauldrons and ready your wands to create this otherworldly snack.
From the Potion Cupboard:
12-15 cups of popped popcorn
1 tsp of vanilla
1 1/3 cups of sugar
½ cup light Karo corn syrup
1 cup of butter
2 ounces of light cocoa confectionary coating
Double and double and trouble and toil
Bring all these ingredients to a boil:
The sugar, corn syrup, salt, and butter,
Stir for five minutes – sure not to stutter.
Add in vanilla and heat ‘till golden
(That is when the taste will be emboldened).
Pour over your pop and mix well to coat,
For a sinful treat without antidote.
Into the oven, three fifty degrees
Seven to ten minutes is best to please.
Take your treat out and be sure mix it well,
Then it’s ready to serve and cast your spell.
But you can make it a sweet treat of lore
With some additions – just a few things more.
With light cocoa milk chocolate melts or caps
Into a trance they will surely collapse
With fright when their eyes discover these bugs –
Spiders and roaches, centipedes and slugs.
Heat chocolate for ten seconds – do this thrice
Sprinkle in sea salt – no amount precise.
Into a bottle or bag you can pour
The dreamy chocolate they’re sure to adore.
With a tip that’s small – number one will do –
Pipe out some insects that ensure a boo.
For a minute or three refrigerate,
Forming tasty bugs that really look great.
With remaining chocolate, crawlers adhere
To your delicious pop, stirring up fear.
You now have a treat that’s sure to delight,
Creating magic this Halloween night.
