Brrrr, baby it’s cold outside! That means it’s the perfect time to grab some blankets, plop down on the couch, get comfy, and watch some holiday classics. So, here’s a list of our top 5 favorite seasonal flicks to keep you in the holiday spirit. And remember: no movie is complete without POP!

1. It’s A Wonderful Life

What it’s About: A small-town business man, George Bailey, considers himself completely unsuccessful and wishes he’d never been born. With the help of an angel, George sees that his life is pretty dang amazing, because he’s touched the lives of everyone in his beloved town, saving it from a bleak fate.

Cheer Factor: Critics may dismiss It’s A Wonderful Life for being too fluffy, but there is a reason it’s remained popular for the better half of a century: it’s the perfect holiday movie.

POP Pairing: A classic movie needs a classic popcorn, so we’re pairing this Capra film with our Holiday Classic Tin.

2. White Christmas

What it’s About: Successful Broadway producers team up with a sister act and travel to a snow-less failing Vermont Inn run by a beloved former commanding general. They invest their life’s savings into moving their Broadway hit to the Inn, in an attempt to save it from financial ruin.

Cheer Factor: With Bing Crosby crooning every other minute during this musical romantic comedy, you’re bound to find some holiday cheer in this 1954 film.

POP Pairing: King’s Kettle Blend. Three flavors of fluffy, white, snow-like pop that’s crafted in kettle corn style…the perfect combo.

3. Elf

What it’s About: Buddy, a human raised by elves in the North Pole, sets out to New York to find his real father, Walter. Being a grown man who grew up in Santa’s realm, Buddy doesn’t exactly fit in, but his childish innocence allows him to reconnect with his family, ensuring a meaningful Christmas for all.

Cheer Factor: While you wouldn’t think it from a Will Ferrel l movie, Elf is surprisingly sweet and a lot of fun.

POP Pairing: Buddy loves sweet things almost as much as we do, so we paired this movie with our Holiday Cookie Popcorn Tin.

4. A Christmas Story

What it’s About: Ah, the classic story told by Ralpie, everyone’s favorite 9-year-old. All he wants under the tree is a freaking Red Ryder BB gun [you’ll poke your eye out] but none of the adults in his life seem to think it’s the best gift for the 1940s adolescent.

Cheer Factor: Basically, this film is the furthest thing from the usual syrupy holiday tales – which is probably the reason it’s gained such popularity.

POP Pairing: Eat Holiday Traditional POP with this movie because no matter how traditional Ralphie’s family tries to be, they hands down fail.

5. Love Actually

What it’s About: This movie is comprised of interwoven vignettes that are set in the weeks preceding Christmas, during which love stories of all sorts unfold.

Cheer Factor: You’ll feel it in your fingers, you’ll feel it in your toes! With an all-star cast, this cutesy romantic comedy couldn’t be any more heartwarming.

POP Pairing: Holiday Popcorn Sampler: a bunch of sweet flavors for a bunch of sweet stories.

Runners up were: Miracle on 34th street, Scrooge, the Muppet Christmas Carol, Home Alone, and The Bishop’s Wife. Any you think should be on our top 5? What’re you watching this holiday season?
